 BY: RYAN  A new report shines on The Elite (Kenny Omega, Hangman Page, and the Young Bucks) and their contract status.Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that all four of them have been negotiating new AEW contracts.  "When we asked for an update this week, we were told that the deals aren’t done yet. However, both sides have felt like several deals had been close, with one side noting that could have been said for several months, and not a lot had changed on that front. Those we spoke with in AEW were confident they’d retain the Elite, despite CM Punk returning to the company. We’ve not been given any update on Elite and their willingness to work with Punk, though creative is planned for several of them for quite some time.  BY: RYAN  Jimmy Jacobs Joins AEW As A Producer. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that Jimmy Jacobs is backstage ahead of the June 14 episode of AEW Dynamite, and sources hinted that he would be helping out with creative. AEW will be launching its third weekly show, AEW Collision, on June 17, and the company has brought on Bryan Danielson and hired Will Washington to help with creative recently. Since November 2017, Jacobs had been a key member of IMPACT Wrestling’s creative team. Jacobs appeared in a video on their Twitter account earlier in the day on June 14. Jacobs previously worked as a creative writer for WWE from March 2015 until October 2017.  BY: RYAN  This week’s episode of WWE NXT drew 581,000 viewers on the USA Network, which is down from a week ago that did 615,000. The show did a 0.16 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, which is down from last week’s 0.17 rating. It ranked #8 in the top 150 shows on cable for the night. Speaking with Metro UK, Sheamus talk on why he should be included in the event.  “I mean, selfishly I should [be on it]. If it’s with Ridge [Holland] too, that’d be great.  BY: RYAN  EJ Nduka is no longer a free agent.  Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that Nduka signed with AEW after he made his debut at the Dark tapings. Though he hasn’t been used, he has been under some sort of deal with AEW, though the specific type of unclear. When he entered free agency, Fightful reported that Nduka had interest from WWE and other promotions around the world. However, after James Kimball was fired from WWE, a lot of the talent on his radar wasn’t signed. Nduka has not wrestled since the January 28 AEW Dark taping, which marked his AEW debut with the company. He wrapped up with Major League Wrestling at the MLW Blood & Thunder tapings on January 7, where he and Calvin Tankman lost the MLW World Tag Team Championship to Juicy Finau & Lance Anoa’i. All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan was a recent guest on Barstool Rasslin’ to discuss a wide variety of subjects.  When asked about the return of CM Punk this Saturday on AEW Collision, Khan said he’s very excited about it and calls him one of the biggest names in the company. “ Well, it’s very exciting. CM Punk’s been out injured since All Out, and he had a tricep injury in the main event match,” Tony Khan said. “We have not seen him in a long time. I’m very excited about his return to the ring.  BY: RYAN  In March, Kofi Kingston was pulled from the #1 contender match on WWE Friday Night SmackDown for an Intercontinental Title shot at WrestleMania 39 due to an ankle injury.  He was replaced by Xavier Woods and later had surgery. Kingston spoke on the Battleground podcast where he gave an update  “I’m actually in Orlando right now doing some rehab on my ankle,” Kingston said. “I had ankle surgery to remove a bone chip and fix some ligaments after the massive, Scottish behemoth of a man, Drew McIntyre, landed on my leg and my body went east and my leg went west and my ankle was completely sprained but they took out some bone chips and fixed the ligament and now, I’m on the mend, you know? Somewhere in between a robot and a zombie. Somewhere in between. I’m working my way back into the fold so, it’s all good, life is grand.  BY: RYAN  WWE officials want Drew McIntyre back by Money In the Bank. A new report from PWInsider notes that there has been a push within WWE creative to get Drew McIntyre back into the storyline mix by Money In the Bank Weekend in London, which makes sense given his status as one of the WWE’s top European stars. There were meetings held last week to discuss pitches for McIntyre’s return, but there’s no word yet on if they have booked his return.  BY: RYAN  Roman Reigns is set to defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship for the first time since WrestleMania 39 at a live event. The Heritage Bank Center announced several superstars for the WWE Supershow at the arena on June 17.  BY: RYAN  CM Punk held the WWE Championship for 434 days in a modern record with the title. Roman Reigns has now been WWE Champion longer than CM Punk, due to his new title taking lineage from both the Universal and WWE Championships. Reigns captured the WWE title in a match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38. We will have to wait and see how much longer Reigns remains WWE Champion but for now, he has now surpassed one of the longest WWE title reigns in recent memory. WWE’s current broadcasting rights deals are both set to expire in October 2024, with Comcast currently paying $265 million per year for USA Network to host Monday Night Raw, whilst FOX pays $205 million for Friday Night SmackDown. According to a new report from the New York Post, WWE’s exclusive negotiating period with both Comcast and Fox has come to an end, and thus, new parties are beginning to show interest. “ It is still early in the process, but one party that does have interest in adding the WWE is Disney, according to sources. The potential cable placement would not be ESPN, but rather FX.” -New York Post Other notable potential suitors, according to the report, included the likes of Amazon Prime Video, Warner Bros.  BY: RYAN  Earlier this year it was announced that the first WWE King and Queen of The Ring Premium Live Event would be held on Saturday, May 27 in Saudi Arabia, but weeks later the event was changed to WWE Night of Champions. Now a new report from Fightful Select notes that WWE sources in the know say they’ve heard nothing about the WWE King and Queen of The Ring PLE being re-scheduled for later this year. However, it was also said that the tournaments are something WWE is keeping “in their back pocket” for future Premium Live Events in the Kingdom. AEW TBS Champion Kris Statlander was a recent guest on Haus of Wrestling to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about the process behind her defeating Jade Cargill for the title, Statlander revealed that the idea behind her winning the title had been planned for months. “There was talks about it a few months before I fully returned,” Kris Statlander revealed. “But I always never believe that things are gonna happen until I walk out there and it happens. Asuka ended Bianca Belair’s year-long reign at Night of Champions 2023, earning her a third reign as the RAW Women’s Champion.  BY: RYAN  It seems like a match between CM Punk and KENTA is potentially in the cards for Forbidden Door later this month. According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), the current working plan is for New Japan STRONG Openweight Champion KENTA to work the Forbidden Door pay-per-view on June 25. As for his opponent, Sapp reports that CM Punk is being discussed as KENTA’s potential opponent, but it has yet to be confirmed that this match will take place.  BY: RYAN  Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS pulled in 903,000 viewers, down from last week’s show, which did 923,000. They drew a 0.33 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, up from last week’s 0.29. AEW Dynamite ranked #4 in the top 150 shows on cable for the night. Brandon Thurston of WrestleNomics reported the numbers.This was the highest rated Dynamite in the key demo since March 22. Speaking with Mark Andrews on My Love Letter to Wrestling, Rollins addressed the notion that the World title is the “work-rate” title of WWE. “I think just kind of calling it the work-rate title is a little bit underselling it. According to a report from Fightful Select, CM Punk & FTR vs. Jay White, Juice Robinson and Samoa Joe has been discussed for the debut edition of AEW Collision, which takes place on June 17 in Chicago, IL. The official main event announcement will be made by Tony Khan on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Additionally, it is being said that Bullet Club Gold will be getting new members “imminently.” As of this writing, there is no word on whether Samoa Joe will be among the new members.And finally, it was noted that Jay White has been “very laid back” as it pertains to his creative in the company.
