Top NJPW Star Reportedly a Free Agent, News on WWE Interest

Tama Tonga is currently working without a contract.

A new report from Fightful Select notes that Tonga is technically a free agent, and has long been working without a NJPW contract.

It’s been reported that WWE has had interest in Tonga for months, going back to January at least, so much that there were some tentative creative ideas pitched for him. However, since then, WWE has not maintained contact, reportedly due to an unofficial hiring freeze, but WWE higher-ups are still interested.

We will have to wait and see if Tama Tonga will sign with WWE.

AEW Wrestler Announces Departure

 BY: RYAN  Fuego Del Sol is no longer under contract with AEW. Del Sol made regular appearances on AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation during the COVID-19 pandemic. He went on a 34-match losing streak, which was broken on July 6, 2021, in a tag team match when he and Marko Stunt defeated Ryzin and Baron Black. Ricky Starks Accompanied Cody Rhodes To WrestleMania 38 Return

BY: Ryan  AEW Star Ricky Starks was at WWE Royal Rumble 2023 this past weekend, accompanying Cody Rhodes backstage ahead of the American Nightmare triumph in the titular men's match. Ricky Starks attendence was revealed when a leaked still from a security camera started going around online. Both Fightful Select and PWInsider has Confirmed Ricky Starks and Cody Rhodes are extremely close friends and Ricky Starks has accompanied Cody Rhodes to previous WWE event. "  There was some internet surprise to AEW Ricky Starks being in attendance at the Royal Rumble with Cody Rhodes as a photo popped up online. The two are extremely close. Ricky Starks and QT Marshall was actually with Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 38 in Dallas when Rhodes made his WWE return as well".
