CM Punk Wants To Wrestle With Samoa Joe Again

CM Punk was said to be pushing for a huge marquee feud for his first return matchup to the company. This included discussions of a Chris Jericho vs. Punk program, but Punk was reportedly pushing for a different return opponent. 

In an update, a new report from Fightful Select notes that Punk has become increasingly interested in working with ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe. Punk has been pitching the feud with Joe for the better part of a month now.

There’s no word yet on if Punk’s pitch/suggestion was for a one-off match with Joe or an extended program. There’s also no confirmation that the match is actually happening as AEW sources will not discuss anything related to Collision in general, much less the planned matches.

Joe has not wrestled in the AEW ring since dropping the AEW TNT Title to Wardlow at Revolution in early March, but he continues to appear on ROH TV as a regular, and has been ROH World Television Champion since capturing the strap from Minoru Suzuki on the April 13, 2022 edition of AEW Dynamite.

"  There was some internet surprise to AEW Ricky Starks being in attendance at the Royal Rumble with Cody Rhodes as a photo popped up online. The two are extremely close. Ricky Starks and QT Marshall was actually with Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 38 in Dallas when Rhodes made his WWE return as well". AEW Wrestler Announces Departure

 BY: RYAN  Fuego Del Sol is no longer under contract with AEW. Del Sol made regular appearances on AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation during the COVID-19 pandemic. He went on a 34-match losing streak, which was broken on July 6, 2021, in a tag team match when he and Marko Stunt defeated Ryzin and Baron Black.
